On August 18th, 1976, 35 North Korean soldiers crossed the line in JSA. Five soldiers bludgeoned Captain Arthur Bonifas to death with an axe, and beat Lieutenant Mark Barret to death, and injured several South Korean soldiers. This incident later spread to the risk of the Second Korean War.
